Tell us something about you…
Hi, this is Cynthia Corona otherwise known as @cyncynti on Instagram. I was born in sunny Mexico and currently live in Shanghai. I am a graphic designer that loves photography, travelling and meet other cultures. I have been travelling since I was 18 and now I feel grateful to have the opportunity to travel with my partner Jens @envy4lens.
Your favorite place on this planet?
From all the places I have visited Mexico is still my number one, but I recently fell in love with the Philippines and its crystal clear water and amazingly welcoming people. On the third place, I’d choose Sri Lanka an amazing country with new sceneries to discover.
Do you have any specific goals for your travel?
When I travel I like to live in the moment, while loosely planning some activities or accommodations I also love being flexible and not having a schedule. At the end what I love the most from travelling is meeting new people. This way we emerge easier in a new culture.
Place you would love to visit?
I’d love to visit Fiji, Peru, Argentina, Japan, and the never-ending list continues.
How would you describe your photography style?
It is hard to describe lately, a lot of people are trying to do the same in social media. Jens and I always want to produce pictures as natural as possible, trying to let people dream of being in that location that we are showing. I never use photoshop, my idea is to keep things real since this is the way everyone would experience a destination. Although we do as much as we can to make the shot look dreamy and pleasant, which involves sometimes getting up early or waiting for some time to get a people free moment.
Do you have a favorite image or experience? If so, can you tell us the backstory?
There are so many things to share but the first one coming to my mind is the last holiday in the Philippines. We rented a motorbike to travel around 4 hours to the Chocolate Hills. It was an amazing experience that I will never forget. On our way back we crossed the island on a very lonely road, all the people crossing our way were waving at us, kids running behind us trying to get closer to us. We felt so welcome and happy, at the end those small moments are what really counts and stay with you forever.
You travel a lot, how many places did you visit in 2017?
Worst travel experience?
So far we have been lucky travelling, but if there is something that I remember as a bad experience it was during my very first trip alone. I went to Guatemala and after a month travelling I had food poisoning, I had to stay in bed for a day and I really felt like I could die there. I never had anything like this before. It is always advised to be careful where you eat when on holidays!
Your goals for 2018?
My goal for 2018 is already done! I was always dreaming to live in Asia and now I am happy to live in Shanghai. Next part of the big plan is to travel more in Asia!
